Rereading the Harry Potter series (just finished the second last night). I also started Swamplandia this week and, after reading Horns a few weeks back, got really into Joe Hill, so Heart Shaped Box took up a bit of my time recently as well as Locke & Key.

WHAT

I feel like Hatesong should be open to outside submissions. I really need to vent about "Cotton Eye Joe."

I just looked at the track listing. Maybe "Taxman" but it's such a good album that I can't find anything I even dislike.

I really like their first album, actually. And I have this thing about musicians and creative people generally where I have to focus on their art, not the personalities behind it, because otherwise I would like so little.

That's my favorite outtake reel, but seriously, all four of them are gold.

It was private room karaoke so the room was on reserve for about 20 people for three hours. Lots of opportunity to go again and again.

I did karaoke. It involved Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young," Cake's "Short Skirt/Long Jacket," "You Really Got a Hold on Me" (Beatles version), and Avril LaVigne's "Girlfriend," plus backup on Weezer's "Say it Ain't So," the Offspring's "Come Out and Play," and Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now." I also watched Avatar:

WALL-E, Finding Nemo, and Monsters, Inc.

I was going to say just that—monsters probably don't get into heavy drinking or recreational drug use. Granted, I don't know what vices they'd indulge in instead, but… Wait, why am I thinking about this?

WALL-E is my favorite, absolutely, and I actually think Finding Nemo is their best besides it. (I also love Monsters Inc. dearly but would acknowledge it's not quite as brilliant.) But you're right about Ratatouille being wonderful. I've never seen another movie that makes me want to eat good food quite so much, and

This tangent speaks to why the filters on AVC comments still aren't thorough enough.

On the other hand, 80 years old. He's earned the right.

If so, have they tried turning it off and on again?

… Richard?

I've always had at least one cute coworker. In my last office, where maybe a thousand people worked, there was this guy we referred to as Ryan Gosling Photo Department. You figure out why!

@Scrawler2:disqus I read that as "underwear spy." Everything makes sense now.

My favorite, which you also probably shouldn't watch in the workplace:

Yeah, you're referring to Give Yourself Goosebumps!, one of a handful of spinoff series. It's pretty terrible.

Who said they're wack?
