The Writer's Tale
If you're up to date with Who, and are curious about writing methods, his book - The Writer's Tale - is fascinating.

Yeah, I like him a lot too, but think his episodes usually fell somewhere in the middle. There were far far worse ones than the ones he wrote (the Olympics one was the true nadir), but most of the time his were good to great, and featured at least one really terrific moment (the Doctor and Donna meeting in the season

If it were up to me it would be in every cinema in England all year round. Hence my entitled disappointment.

I mean, I'd be up for it if it was on. But it isn't, at least this week.

A quick check of ViewLondon shows it's only on in Borough, and only a couple of weekend shows. Very disappointing. I'd be up for it, but am currently hiding from the world due to illness. Goddamnit.

And introduce Jerry Sadowitz to a US audience. I'm sure he would love that. (???)

"(rory bremner is just too fucking smug)"

I heard a rumour that she's going to be buried in a cathedral somewhere, to stop people dancing and/or pissing on her grave. That many people have said it. Probably a joke that people are taking seriously, but it actually wouldn't surprise me.

No worries, edked. Any fan of The Monarch is alright by me. After being treated snippily in the John Barrowman thread for responding to a query about the second season, I just don't want anyone to think I'm just going to be a douchebag about Torchwood. That's right, if there is a Torchwood review on here, I'll stay

You say ridiculous paranoia, I say personal tale about sadness over the inability of everyone to communicate across the generation gap. You say potato, etc. I've not read those interviews, so I just have fond memories of his writing, which was often phenomenally good. That whole thing about admiring artists who are

@tabernacle, I've become fond of Jonathan Hensleigh's Punisher, though I would hesitate to actually call it good. That feeling intensified when I saw PWZ. They finally gave Frank Castle a plot arc other than "Kill everything", but that plot arc ("Feel bad for killing a cop, and consider giving it all up") meant he

Bourne, have you seen The Spirit? That might be my favourite Frank Miller work in years, and for all the wrong reasons. It's horribly misguided, and often quite dull, but every so often there is a flash of peculiar lovability. It's an odd one. Better than many other recent superhero movies (X-Men Origins: Wolverine

How does it compare to JJ Abram's Superman script, with Kryptonian Lex Luthor?

Thaumaturgical Man-Mound, the first person to debunk the theory in From Hell was Moore himself. He says in the afterword that he doesn't believe it. He just liked the story. Also, it's about so much more than just another Ripper tale. I'm not going to try to convince you, though. If you don't like it, that's cool.

There are certainly "parallels" in the story between CoE and Quatermass 4. I'm using polite terminology there.

Torchwood fans are worse. I say this as an annoying Whedon fan making an effort to tone it down in polite conversation.

udjibomm, here's a transcript from WonderCon, where the future of the line was discussed.

@Dubrovsky - My memory isn't what it used to be. Thanks for clearing that up.

I don't know about Karen Clarke. I think Gandolfini was playing a Colin Powell type, and Tom Hollander's character was modeled on the MP Clare Short, but other than them (and Malcolm and Jamie), I'm not sure.

I think Paul Whitehouse was openly contemptuous of Langham during the trial. Iannucci seemed supportive at first, but who knows what he feels now.
