Mae Whitman played a recurring character on Arrested Development called Ann Veal:

Glad I'm not the only one annoyed by that, Billy. Wall*E seems to spend most of the film falling over, usually as punctuation to the end of the scene. In the UK we had a satirical puppet show called Spitting Image, and because they never knew how to finish a scene, the puppeteers would end it with one puppet hitting

GhaleonQ, are you addressing my post? I only ask because someone was talking about the gross tongues on the cars in Cars but I don't know whether it was this thread or another, and your post seems to be connected to that as much as what I was saying.

Joe Hisaishi
No record collection is complete without the soundtrack to Spirited Away. It's one of the most moving pieces of music I've ever heard, even when detached from the original. As much as I'm excited about Ponyo because of Miyazaki-san's genius, I'm just as thrilled to be getting some new Hisaishi. Hurry up

Wall*E would have been much better if Stanton had decided to make a Buster Keaton homage, instead of the Charlie Chaplin homage with all of the attendant cutesiness. And I mean from the first frame to the last. None of this "latter half" shit.

GhaleonQ, if Brad Bird hadn't spent that time making the food look so real, Ratatouille's impact would have been halved. Money well spent.

I guess now I know why he doesn't list his backing singers on some of his albums. Love the guy, but I'll always think that's a dick move.

Oldham concerts are a beautiful experience, because he has a large back catalogue to call on, so there is a great deal of variety from show to show. Plus he is willing to revisit his work and change it around, so you're getting new takes on old favourites. Domino appear to be releasing more live albums recently, and

I never got the sense he was talking about illegal downloads. Wasn't he talking more about iTunes and suchlike?

I too think it's still got some great writing (it's still funnier than most sitcoms), and don't think it's in terminal condition. I did prefer last season though, because it was so novel. This season is at least better than season three, which was so dull I almost gave up on it.

"Isn't this how we got "Bratz: The Movie?" "

Do bother. It's the polar opposite of shit. And pretty much the same as The Shit.

Volcano and Dante's Peak mismatched? They were both equally terrible.

"I could put a double bill of Trespass and Extreme Prejudice on permanent repeat. "

Alright people, assholes and elbows. Hudson, come here. Come! Here!

Fasurious.

Freleng over Jones is one I've not heard before. I can't agree, John Clavis, love Freleng though I do, but can we both agree that they piss on the hack Bob McKimson, whose cartoons were like poorly realised animated adaptations of vaudeville skits?

The Bends > OK Computer > In Rainbows > Kid A > Amnesiac > Hail to the Thief > Pablo Honey

Another vote for Black Star. It's perfect.

The interview I was thinking of is at this link (http://www.nypost.com/enter…, but you can't read it because it has been archived. It's been copied and pasted to various blogs, though, so just type Lou Lumenick Brad Bird Rand and you'll strike lucky. Here is what he said…
