I did from the start, but having started over again after season 2, the quality of the first few episodes are really noticeably worse. I can kind of see the write-off it got from just those episodes now.

Wow. This is the least hateful review I've seen of this movie so far.

The tacked on AIDS plot aside, it's actually a pretty good hangout movie about a particular group of New York teens that could only have been made at a certain point in time. View it as a cultural postcard or time capsule rather than focus on the exploitative elements (they are meant to piss you off).

First episode. It's odd seeing the first few episodes where no one was cheering The Wørd because it was all so new.

One of my favourite things about Mad Max is how it trusts the audience to fill in the blanks. There's no needless exposition or hand holding, yet you FEEL that these are fully formed character inhabiting a universe with an internal logic, acting on clear motivations and following their own agendas.
