A couple years back, Butch made a song that I'd gladly stack up in the All-Time Great Power Pop Song Contest of 2009: "Bethamphetamine (Pretty Pretty)" off of the album "The Rise & Fall of Butch Walker and The Let's*Go*Out*Tonites!".

Fundraising.
For years now, I've looked for a way to use the phrase "[they] put the 'raisin' in fundraising!" but to no avail. It seems like this post gets me pretty damned close. And yet, here I sit, broken-hearted.
Fuck it, I'm in.
Claeheap is a big fat meany.
@mbs — you make valid points. and there's no doubt that the exclamation point that ends VP is well-earned, well-deserved, etc. AND now i'm wondering if i'm one of them HDB's the kids keep talking about because I liked TLP so much. dammit.
Attempting this gently, without revealing any spoiler-type things:
oh riff, if you're wearing cruel shoes i think i'm in love.
@Phony Pope—
We're in the middle of packing for a move, and I found my girlfriend's high school yearbooks. Paging through them, I commented that the kid with her in one picture looks like a young Hot Dog. And she casually goes, "Oh yeah, it is."
Actually, I don't really like video games or anime, and yet I find these books really satisfying. And that is because the writing is funny. The idea that a lazy slacker guy has to fight the seven evil ex-boyfriends of the girl (a bike messenger, of course) he thinks he probably loves or whatever…that's funny.
Too angered up in the blood for a subject.
This makes me want to punch, and break, my own computer, just to make it stop pledging at me. And motherfuckers, I cant AFFORD a new computer. I bought this one used!
SEX BOB-OMB!!!
I can't wait to hear how they sound. If this film had been made a few years earlier, I would have loved to have seen Rhett Miller from the Old 97's play Scott. Not that he's an actor or anything (not yet!) but he has the floppy hair/doe eyes thing down cold.
Hey, this is niiiice.
While I noticed, as did another commenter, that the Comics Panel is not included in the Books channel, I'm sure I'll track it down eventually. Skills like that are why I hold such a powerful office around here.
I was wondering about this as well. I have memories of Howie's standup specials on HBO in like, '84 or '85, and they were really funny. But then again, I was 13.
I _hate_ Illinois Nazis.
How to tell when punk kids get mature:
When they add a ninth to every fucking chord they bang the shit out of.
Don't they realize?
I didn't ctrl+F to see if it's been mentioned before (and I got busted for that last week), but the 1980 film "Urgh! A Music War" includes XTC, pre-stage fright, doing an absolutely STOMPING version of "Respectable Street."
