FYI, time shows that just about everyone is not hip or cool.  Because being old is not hip.  Musicians are just about the only people who pull this off.

Hey, H&H Bagels had a good run during the late 70s and early 80s.

Sorry that people like a thing.  We'll try not to next time.

Okay, I will confess that this upset me, until the poster above explained that the trip to China plays out like a children's book.

Wow, I really wasn't on board for the whole China subplot until I read this.  I think you absolutely nailed it - that makes the end very satisfying.  And now there's suddenly a lot of dust in the room..

I think this season has been a little more uneven - weirdly I think the highs have been less high, the lows less low - but the last 4 episodes killed it.  It feels like the kind of show that people wait for Netflix/DVD to catch up on - at least I have to bother pretty much everyone I know to watch it when it does get

How amazing would it be if you had a Simpsons episode in seasons 2-8 or a Seinfeld episode that you simply chose not to watch, so you could keep it for later?  I envy Todd - saving an episode of a non-serialized show is a pretty great idea if you can pull it off.

We are speaking here of Tarkovsky, who expected different things of film than you or I or most people.  While I don't think that's the defining criterion of greatness, I think Wallet Inspector makes a good point nonetheless.

They do to a large degree, and even so, Woody Allen shot maybe one movie the way CK is shooting his show - stylisticially they're very different. Whatever the case, obviously CK owes a giant debt to Woody Allen that he's acknowledged, but the point is that something like this hasn't been on TELEVISION, and the

yeah who could forget that high rated ABC hit 'Woody' from the 70s - the author is a fan of TV history, I don't know how he could've forgotten about it.

Yeah, this.  I'm curious to see how Marc Maron's show fares - not that Maron is a director, but it's my understanding that he stars and is at least co-writing everything. I have a feeling it will read like a Louie knockoff - although I imagine Maron's show will at least have continuity.
