Only because they're trying to accomplish completely different things, even though both shows are about stand-up comedians who live in New York whose show personae are less successful than they are in real life.  Seinfeld (the show) crushed the sitcom form, but Louie's its own thing and doing real well at being that.

I know he hasn't talked about it on DLM (to my knowledge), but he did reveal on WTF that he was an extra in movies like Blade Runner and Fast Times At Ridgemont High.  Those were made 30 years ago.

I have a weird fascination with it because I never knew it was on when I was young, so part of me is still convinced that everyone in my life invented a fake horrible television show and is trying to fool me into thinking it was a real thing.

Cody:  wow, you chose poorly.  I'm from NJ - Yankees/Giants/Devils.  And those were all made pre-1995.

Sorry D'Angelo, I think it's just you.  I'm not going to defend Greenberg as a great film - it's not, it's like if you removed the punchlines from a Woody Allen character, gave him a worse life story, then stuck him in L.A. and gave him an MPDG to hang out with.  I like it, but I comment on the AV Club - it's a movie

Right, that sounds like rather faint praise, given what everyone says about Guest and Shearer.  But only one of them appeared on Mr. Show, so that again speaks to zeppo's point.

Even if CC had interest in doing that (which, given that I think they air Tosh.0 reruns in that spot, they don't), you are missing the main crux of my point - Conan is not off-beat.  He's not something massively different from what's going on in the television landscape now.  What's different are the shows on Adult

Yeah, I don't know these people who expect even really talented and driven people's careers to just be a skip through a field of gillyflowers.  It's nigh impossible to name a working actor who's always chosen great, arty projects.

I've watched plenty of Conan on TBS and I don't see how he's 'brainy, somewhat off-beat humor' anymore.  Furthermore, I think Family Guy has a large dose of Conan's type of surreality - I think there'd be a pretty big overlap between the fanbases.  Family Guy isn't Jay Leno, nor is it even Dane Cook - I don't like the

I keep reading this from commenters and writers on this site, and it makes no sense to me.  If Conan can't appeal to a watching Family Guy+The Big Bang Theory+Men At Work demographic, who exactly is he appealing to, and why does he have a show like this?
