No, you aren't. I also really liked this show. The music and direction was always quite beautiful, and I liked how it boldly changed direction through the seasons. I even enjoyed the final season, even if certain aspects felt a little rushed. But, yep, I'm a Lost fan.

Where's my fucking time machine?

Picking nits on Moffat's sweater usually leads to the whole thing unraveling, leaving you with a bare-chested Moffat, and no one wants to see that. I'm with you: Capaldi saved the day in this one. And he had good chemistry with Coleman, so I'll take it for what it is.

I also truly loved Smith's performance. I mean, amazing to create such an old soul with a young man's face. It's mostly the plots, and I fear this will be more of the same: Moffat using a great performance to anchor shitty writing.

Sounds like you're from Mayberry.

As they travel time and space dumpster diving and stealing the odd coat from other hobos?

Yeah, that was a fucking thick layer of cheese.

I mean, I really and truly have no problem with the politics of it, but for the love of Pete, be subtle and write something interesting.

Where can you find the audio stories in the States? Can one just buy them on the Big Finish website and download them?

Even 55 isn't old, not any more.

She's in her early 50's now, I think. She was in her 40's in Silence/Forest. She'd actually be a good pairing with Capaldi, I think.

And, lest we forget this is a show about time travel, there are lots of Roman numerals and clock gears.

Word.

"On a character level, we also had no idea what was meant to be happening
to the Doctor up until the scene in the alleyway. So he had some kind
of regeneration amnesia? Okay… why?"

I, too, find it really weird, but I think most of the noise is coming from fan girls. People who are not teen girls know that mid-50's can be very hale and hearty, depending on your life choices in your 40's, and Capaldi seems sharp, active, and fit. I think his maturity brings intensity and gravity. I don't think

It was so on the nose it gave me a black eye.

It comes in a clever box. Or maybe not. It could be a gift bag, with tissue or some other thing stuffed inside. Maybe the gift is the tissue. Tissue!!!

I think, for me, it reminded me of just how far Smith's run had fallen since his excellent first season, and that I was bummed out to realize how little I gave a shit about this character by the end of his run. Personally I'm glad for the change in tone, but the real change needs to happen at the top.

Queasy I'm-gonna-puke-queasy because you would hate it, or queasy with anticipation?

"I take Eleven's cameo to plead with Clara as an admission of failure by the writers…"
