Yeah, Muppets from Space was a bit of a flop. I blame Disney, though. There was a huge shift in quality & tone once they bought control of Muppet Studios (though I DO really like Muppet Treasure Island; an opinion not many share).

While Yamagata's cover isn't terrible by any means, I still much prefer the original. The simplicity of the composition makes it sound more wistful & earnest to me. Plus, Gonzo.

While Coco DID impress me with her amazing lip synch & reading of Serena, she still kinda creeps me out. Partly because of those contacts, partly because she looks 70 years old in her drag, & partly because her quips & mugging seem so forced & awkward.

I loved how uninhibited & blunt KJ was with her critiques & opinions! It was on the good side of being obnoxious, but I think it would get old fast if she were in any more episodes, though. Having judges that know the show, its history, & its aesthetic really made the difference in this episode. KJ & JL were great.

I've heard that it's a Latoya Jackson impression. Don't know why, though.

@avclub-16ee5ea4bed04df347c1eab17d47d0b3:disqus Very true. Perhaps I should focus more on how easily he came around to accepting Jane's past relationships as real relationships than where he initially started.

Judging from Max's Max-ness, I'm assuming it was something ALF-esque.

Shoot, I wish I saw this thread before I posted my issues with the Brad/Jane storyline up top.

While I do appreciate how nonchalantly Jane's sexuality is discussed, the way Brad initially treated her ex as just a potential three-way partner & not a real person left a bad taste in my mouth. The way he objectified Ryan & her relationship with Jane really nagged at me for the rest of the episode & I wish Jane had

"I'm going to leave this world how I came into it: wearing a hat."

This episode had my favorite pest control van so far: Lavermin Shirley. Hope I don't have to wait long to see a contestant with that name on RuPaul's Drag Race…

@avclub-c32efcb7f667f6c5def39db8eda2e6ce:disqus Maybe she DID. Her finale outfit bears a striking resemblance to the tribute outfits seen in the stills for the next Hunger Games movie…. (also, Raven as a dirty Effie Trinket during the stand-up portion why not?)

Agreed, but Tyra fit the formula of what this show is looking for: regal, stylish/glamorous, witty but not wacky, & someone inoffensive enough to use is mass marketing. Sharon was able to appease the judges, but I don't think she was interested in conforming to those standards once the show was done. So this was Ru's

Raven's continued use of the name Anpherny kinda irked me being that it's not really original. Wasn't that a joke used in Mean Girls (I think Tim Meadows' character had a nephew with that name)?

Could not agree with @Whatwhatque:disqus &@zoomzoomer:disqus more. I think perhaps both Ru & Needles kinda regret how Season 4 turned out. Sharon was able to mold herself to the judges' preferences (doing her "paycheck drag" rather than her "dignity drag") & Ru fell for it. I recently saw a video of Sharon at
