I agree. That was one of the more clever episodes,

I finished this over the weekend and, apart from some minor quibbles, found it to be terrific. I did predict in the episode one review that Frank would become VP, and I presume in season 2 Underwood will arrange a way to force out the President, so he can step in.
My least favorite episode was Frank's trip to the

OK. In that case, you probably will edit the reviews to reflect the comments from the previous episodes,  (I thought your review this week was better than the first two, it did concentrate on the facts.)

In his review of HoC episode one, McGee wrote "My current plan will be to write up each review without having seen the next one. So when I write up episode five, I will have not seen episode six. That should hopefully prevent any accidental foreshadowing in anything I review." According to that plan, he should only

This season's Portlandia reviews have been top-notch. Well-done.

The problem with isolating events by episode can be corrected very easily: the review should start with a synopsis of the episode's events, clearly indicating where the episode ends.  This review doesn't do that (indeed, the review does do much of anything except repeat the rather silly point that it everything goes

This is speculation. I have only seen the first two
episodes.

The asides are no different than the original. As I said below, I wasn't expecting anyone to be Ian Richardson, but Spacey works well enough across the board, including the asides.

You're right. I have watched the second episode, but I so far have resisted the temptation to continue. My prediction was correct that the specific sub-plot in the second episode has no direct connection to the original.  Indeed, the political issue that comes to the front is an American tinderbox, but would not

I've watched the brilliant BBC original a number of times, and have been looking forward to this. I didn't expect Keven Spacey (or anyone) to equal Ian Richardson, but Spacey's version works well enough.  Most of the first episode follows the general plot of the original, so the plot didn't hold many surprises; I

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that there was only winter and "not winter". The two shows I mentioned, both very well-done Canadian shows, take place exclusively in the summer; in most places in the US, and I would assume more so in Canada, people generally don't go outside with just shirts until the summer.

Does this show take place exclusively in the summer?  Two Canadian shows that I've watched, Corner Gas and Trailer Park Boys, were always in the summer. (In Trailer Park Boys, the guys seemed to conveniently receive jail sentences at the end of the summer and were released when the weather improved.:) )  I can see not

The gift tax is imposed upon the donor of the gift, not the recipient.

Now that 30 Rock is ending, I would put it behind only Seinfeld and Arrested Development as my favorite comedies,

Will they go for the trinity and find a way to bring up the goat thing?

After the lethargic first season, this season excelled. This was probably the best episode of the season and the show. (Todd's B is a joke,)

The pacing on this show has accelerated substantially. Last season, the plot seemed to move slowly; it seemed like it was on  development per episode. Now it's moving briskly. I find this much more enjoyable, and I would give this an award for the most improved show.

I agree. In my experience, the "Twits" is one of MP's most widely and fondly remembered pieces.. And for good reason; its a hilarious.
