when Jeff started going on about how predictable the group had become, I actually thought the use of puppets was going to be some sort of meta-commentary on the show itself.

todd, you are one weird dude.

Actually, I think there was a ton of character development packed into the first 2 years, so much so that everything that's happening at this point in the show just feels tacked on. Community was never going to last a long time, it blew its load really early and endeared itself to a lot of people. It doesn't have any

now that was a good season 4 community episode. just really enjoyable all the way through.

some good laughs in this one, but yeah, it all felt kind of pointless.

honestly I think Glover's lack of enthusiasm for the material is just as apparent as Chase's, his autopilot is just much more enjoyable. the Troy/Annie stuff was pure filler and actually reminded me more of Shirley and Annie from The Science of Illusion.

C+/B- throughout, Jeff/Kevin scene bumped it up to possible B territory, then back to C+/B- with the tag.

man, that whole "appendicitis" speech was really dark and really well done. props to Mchale for pulling it off. like Paranormal Parentage, this was a nice episode that had it's heart in the right place and had a solid conclusion, even if there were a few bumps in the road along the way (Willie Jr, Britta's boom box).

I feel like I watched an entirely different Community episode.

I enjoyed this one a bit more than you Todd, but this is one of your best reviews. Your "action figures" bit is spot on (though I think it was more apparent in the previous 2 episodes). There are so many things the show gets wrong every week, but I thought this one actually did have a number of good jokes. "No, he's

it's alright guys, this season is just a flash sideways. they're still in the study room.

annie practically regressed to an infant last night. I'm not sure how that's progression.

You can blame Harmon for therapizing Britta. She was one-note for the entirety of season 3, and it looks like the new showrunners are just going to beat it into the ground even further. She's like one of those stupid dolls where you pull the string and it spits out a canned phrase now. Very disappointing.

The "Al Capone" joke was a dagger through the heart. The cold open with Abed shouting through the door at Troy/Britta could have been from a BBT episode. Jeff/Annie is as stupid and confusing as ever. This is starting to look more and more like the show they parodied in the premiere.

this episode is particularly frustrating because the Jeff stuff was handled so well, but everything else felt so OFF. the jokes just weren't there either.

I really have no idea how people can group season 3 in with the first 2 in terms of quality.

You make some excellent points about the decline of the show, but (and I know I'm probably in the minority) to me they perfectly describe my experience watching SEASON 3. I thought Harmon sort of ran this show into the ground last year. The characters have been one-note for a while now and the reliance on "parody"

Does anyone even want any more Community at this point? I loved it as much as anyone but there's been more than a few nails in the coffin.

My nephew watches this show all the time, it's not half bad. I can't believe AV club covers it and that it gets as many comments as The Middle. So weird.
