This movie really is good mindless fun (the '47 version; I've never seen the older one). I find myself wanting to watch it more often than I want to re-watch almost all of the other supposedly more classic old musicals, even Singin' in the Rain.

I love Vertigo but it's a mood piece and you definitely have to be in the mood. I don't think I'll ever be in the mood to read this thing, but I may watch the movie again soon.

I don't know about now, but she used to be Little Orphan Annie before she became a Warbucks, right? "Mudge" was the name of those stupid fire victims who had Annie's locket anyway.

I used to love the Directory (#1) as a kid; besides just all the info on shows, their description of "Here's Boomer" made me laugh out loud. But as an adult I happened to leaf through my old copy and read the "Roots" entry and decided it wasn't a great book after all.

I always hated Fred and thought I hated Amy Acker until Illyria. And then Whiskey.

They were hilarious, though! The rest of the cast is also great. Not Macdonald Carey.

I love the tennis match! The tension was so high and suddenly you're laughing!

Yes. But you know, I really like Teresa Wright in it too. I liked her in a lot of things. And Patricia Collinge as the mom. Really the whole cast is terrific except Macdonald Carey.

See, but the Sophie B. Hawkins Dance episode was kinda good, though. Can I not think that and be a little right?

To be fair to the writer or whoever you're mad at it's entirely possible to hear that song many times and not realize it contains that word.
