I don't disagree with Maggie saying that Whooch felt more like Howard catching up with (while introducing Ku to) an old friend than what we're accustomed to with that magical show, but it was still a bunch of fun because Giancarlo brought a bunch more Howard out of Howard. It was even touching in parts to hear how

I had quit on Harmontown back in Sept or Oct, after hearing episode 8 or 9, the second time they played D&D (Dungeons and Dragons). In that episode they spent 47 hours of an hour long episode in some interminable puzzle-solving audience-torture routine. I'd been digging Harmontown up till that point but I felt like

@avclub-c6ed06afc5c82c863be3139b9e02e68b:disqus I think the audience not having a mic is most of the "problem", in that the timing probably is much better if you're in the room but for a recording if you don't understand there is natural difference in timing between studio environments and live environments it may

@avclub-5351e766da507432ba6af62865e2488b:disqus Showalter's energy was no good for the first half hour or so but the show gradually ramped up to the point he was really into it at the end.

I don't know if they'd do /Filmcast since they have Tasha on there sometimes.

Kumail makes everything better.

Yeah, Cake Boss is a fun bit but it's a one-joke bit, whereas GM and ALW and WH have far more range and go to weirder and more surprising places. CB is just too predictable to me now.

Quint sure subscribed to "that feed". BOOM!

He had Keith and Chemda of KEITH AND THE GIRL not too long ago. He's also had Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally and Jonathan Katz and Tom Snyder together. I'm sure there were others.

Oh, it got good? I listened to the first bunch of eps but even my love of Wie-Wie Kremer couldn't make me enjoy it very much.

They used to review it but, like Jay Mohr's show lately, it spent week after week in The Rest so they dropped it.

Hers are the best. I saw a good one from Will Sasso too, but yeah, Vine is mostly ass.

For me the recent tales of Howard's past (especially the Conivers stuff) surpassed even the good ol' nonsense quizzes, but I agree that it's best when Howard throws unexpected wrenches into the gears from time to time.

99% of the time Huebel's golden, but on that particular Whooch he missed a bunch.

Call Bro?

Yeah, Glaser on the JJGo was so odd to hear after the CBB. He'd been very game on CBB but brought next to nothing to JJGo.

It was also that it seemed like there was much less Howardness in this episode than normal, or even than the already-notorious Steve-O-dominated episode. Maybe he was just spent from finally releasing the latest DBS album, but he was more subdued than I've heard him for a long time.

I enjoyed Whooch this week but by its own mega-entertaining standards (as one of the Top 3 Comedy Podcasts In Existence) this week's ep was one of the least fun for a while. Nothing against Mather personally, I just found I kept zoning out, and I NEVER do that with Whooch.

UH … YEAH!

I thought they drove it too far on the live show but the first time he did it was pure gold.
