Pretty much every time Jeff yells, "What the hell?!" when something ridiculous happens I laugh. I take him not doing that as much this season to prove you are right about the hysteria being toned down.

You take that back. Competitive Ecology is an excellent episode, what with Todd's speech and the last ever good Chang storyline. Unless by excellent you mean as good as Modern Warfare, in which case carry on.

Heck, even Competitive Wine Tasting made me laugh more than any episodes have so far this season. Because, as terrible as it was, it felt genuine.

I'm trying to decide if this is a recent occurrence or if they've been slowly becoming less genuine and more saccharine.

Dan Harmon kind of frightens me. I'm in the camp that thinks he was the main reason Community was as good as it was, but stuff like that Grantland article and you saying you would've been thrilled if the show was better without him for extremely personal reasons (paraphrase) makes me not like him as a person.

I liked it. It was a little laugh-free, but most of the things that only worked in theory for Todd just plain worked for me. I may be biased because Todd is my favorite character of all time ("What is WRONG with you people?! HUH?! I thought you were supposed to be FRIENDS! I thought you were supposed to LOVE EACH…

That and if you don't write I'll drive myself insane wondering what could have been.

I couldn't really understand the German guys. Watching it with subtitles on Hulu tomorrow should help me decide how I feel about the episode better.

No you should immediately watch the rest of season 2 and at least Remedial Chaos Theory and Introduction to Finality from season 3, if not the entire season. Then you should just pretend that was the final episode and they went out on a high.

At least that's my theory.
