Ending with the bad guy shooting a hole through a boarded up window that allows sunlight in.

Yer right. I say we cast Halle Berry as Catwoman.

The worst thing about Control is that if you you shoot Boris in the face (the only intelligent course of action) then Natalya tells you "Oh! I saw what you did to poor Boris and I will never help you now!" Boo-fucking-hoo.

And then I says tell me I'm wrong, and he says I can't baby 'cuz you're not!!!

I've got the Rules of Acquisition somewhere.

I really liked JMS's Thor, but as far as I know he's never written any other readable comics. Rising Stars is not great.

Neal Conan also appeared as a character in Uncanny X-Men when Claremont was writing it, especially during the "Fall of the Mutants" storyline.

Criterion DVDs usually have okay commentaries, and occasionally really good ones. My favorite "expert" commentary is Tony Rayns on "Ugetsu."

Creepy/Kooky
Haven't seen/heard it, but one of the Addams Family TV show DVD sets promises episode commentaries by Thing and Cousin Itt.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is like my favorite comic ever right now, and my fondest wish is that it could somehow come out every month. And also that you would get a free slice of pie with it. Whatever kind of pie you fancy.

All that shit at the end of Red Son was Grant Morrison's idea, by the way. Are you saying that you hate Grant Morrison?

The Maltese Falcon the novel is about as close to perfect as any book has ever gotten, and the movie's not far behind, but I've always wished that there was a moment in either where Brigid's mask falls away, where something like the killer instinct demonstrated by the male villains shows through, if only to provide

Oh totally. Depp in Secret Window is what Commissioner Gordon looked like before he had kids.

By the way, when did Sean Penn morph into Michael Douglas?

The camera circles away from Franco. A desk calendar flies in from the right. It hovers in the center of the frame as pages burn away, weeks incinerating in a few seconds before the calendar swoops away to the left and off-screen, just in time for the camera to finish its revolution and come upon Franco, now bearded
