genevieve,
you rock. This was a great article. I'm still a little sad that This Was Pop is now only once a month.

Honestly the two shows seem like opposites to me - Community is built mostly around using stereotypes in unique ways, and MF usually relies on its actors/characters to build an episode. Not that Community's actors can't pull off pretty much anything the writers throw at them.

No Luke is acceptable when you consider the Manny goodness in this episode IMO…and Hailey rocks with Alex usually.

@Robuttnik: Is Head of State a real non-porno movie? Is it about Clinton?

He can write a song? Unaware of that.

You can't?

i see the words "King's Speech"
please restrain me

We all know you know how to spell Bieber. Stop pretending.

not to mention, some people will just never get some albums. Especially if you've had bad experiences, there's some things that just never click.

I didn't know MBDTF wasn't given to critics early…that sucks for the reviewer (Nabin, I think). I've probably listened to that album twenty-five times and my opinion still changes. Maybe that's because I'm not as fluent in hip-hop as I am in, say, indie rock, but still, that one's tough.

I am so jealous of you all. Stop feeling old and just feel lucky.

That was supposed to read "Fewer Healthcare Options," not "Newer Healthcare Options." Have to fix that.

you know what I enjoyed? Celine Dion's song during the memoriam-whatevers. Every time I hear her my mind experiences new depths of just how seriously a person no one takes seriously can take herself. Combined with the "happy birthday" ads beforehand, I was practically on the floor laughing every time they cut to her.

I would immediately go to "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" because it's my favorite song of all time and about death, sort of. But other than that, Erik Adams wins all, with the most kickass dying song ever.

first of all, if you like Gaga, you're probably not homophobic. Let's just say it. Second, gay rights =/= chart poison - "Firework" anyone?

Sean is like the Justin Bieber of this website. is that weird? Yes. Yes it is.

thanks zmf, my thoughts exactly

how does taking abortion money benefit the girl? if she's going to get an abortion doesn't it defeat the purpose? if you were faking a pregnancy that would be different. but, yeah.

not to extend the 30 Rock comparison, but Gloria's character reminds me a lot of when Salma Hayek had an arc in s3 (or was it 2?) - the way most of the jokes are made about her or by her and about her in this case Columbian heritage. Also how they don't try to ignore the fact that she's incredibly sexy, which a lot of
