I work in downtown Detroit, and it really is kind of the lazy man's "Oooh, look. Urban decay!" example these days. Every time I hear about another documentary or another photo essay on Detroit you start rolling your eyes.

He used to go after Rachel Ray quite a bit, but she took it all in good humor, (and sent him like a fruit basket in response) so she doesn't get pinged as much anymore. I think he gets most frustrated by people like Rocco DiSpirito who had talent and wasted it chasing the famewhore express.

I liked Morse, and enjoy Lewis even a little more. Lewis can certainly bring the grumpiness, especially those episodes that have dealt more with his wife's death. There is not the misanthropy of Morse, though, and I'll admit I was never a fan of that aspect. Lewis lives his own sad and lonely life (existing on

After the issue with the girl singer in Beijing who wasn't considered pretty enough to actually use in the 2008 Olympics, I appreciated the fact that Boyle used a deaf choir for God Save The Queen, and pretty much cast volunteers of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities in the opening ceremonies.

Can I play on your lawn? We can snark about how Eugene was the truly missing Barkley, despite that big talk about always being a Barkley.

Should I be more embarrassed that I enjoyed the heck out of Salvage 1? Sure I was only 13, but is that any excuse?

I like the idea of what the story line brings out — opening yourself to an experience — but still, 14 years later and the first thing I remember about the episode isn't the amazing things people can do, but rather the "synergy." It still sticks out like a sore thumb to me out of a series I otherwise remember fondly.
