I'm just glad he got the opportunity to do Seven Psychopaths, which seems contradictory, but his performance there is tremendously moving and far away from the reductive roles and perception he's often stuck with.

Yeah, this is my brother's exact stance on it.

That storyline was what finally made Piper actively work as a character for my brother, which I find fascinating if nothing else relative to the rest of the audience. I haven't gotten around to it yet, myself, but almost everything I hear about S3, including his praise for it, makes it sound fascinating.

I definitely don't think my feelings for it would be/were on the same level if not for that perfectly composed ending. It's very hard not to laugh at, in the life can be so absurdly horrible that you gotta laugh sense, and so beautiful and devastating all at once.
