It wasn't "kind of" a nerd thing.

For what? That sketchy-looking silk-screen printing shop at the bad mall?

There was the one where she apparently has a healthy urinary tract.

Kinda like how "Ghostbusters (2016)" was the gold standard for feminism until it crashed and burned at the box office?

KILL ME MAYBE

Isn't "How Big Is Your Yurt?" the best-selling self-help book in Mongolia?

As Adair points out, the canon of books specifically for trans kids has broadened a bit, in that it exists at all.

That doesn't explain Haim Saban, though!

Aw give him a break. We all felt pretty old when we turned 30, too.

Well, also JJ Abrams was directing… and he's not really that good at world-building. His Trek movies actually feel more claustrophobic than it's motion picture predecessors. Like, is the Klingon homeworld just a short hop away from Earth? You felt the distance in previous movies.

What… like how we discuss the Holiday Special?

"Someday" has a weird personal meaning for me. I don't know; I probably find it deeper than it really is. I guess it made me feel like a nostalgic old man before my time.

It was weird to witness firsthand, too. For the longest time Star Wars was this cult thing that I was sure only I had fond memories of. When it turned out EVERYBODY was into Star Wars it was a bit of a shock.

Empire was my least favorite because of the lack of space battles. The entire second half takes place in the claustrophobic Cloud City. I wanted to see spaceships zip around and blow each other up, darn it! (The AT-ATs were OK, but they're not spaceships.)

The easiest answer is that Lucas is a big kid and CGI was his new toy.

Man, I don't remember when I came across Star Wars but it had to be when it aired in TV. I think I saw Return of the Jedi and Star Wars the most. (I don't think I saw Empire until I got to finally video tape it.) Still… Star Wars was so rare then that it was easy to geek out when they'd air clips on Muppet Babies.

They're hungry for more Hunger Games!

Hey, Glen… did you hear we're switching to Kinja?

You mean like when he went off to start Starwip- (REDACTED)

Tch. He at least got some pull quotes on SyFy. I remember seeing his name and going, "I KNOW THAT GUY!!!!"
