Now I realize a lot of deleted scenes are coming out, but I found out popsugar showed the deleted Robin Sparkles scene from the finale.

P.L.E.A.S.E.
The way Robin handled the divorce wasn't ideal, but I don't think it was completely misplaced. Like MissBeaHaven said, they really should have brought more focus and foreshadowing to what actually broke them up, but I also think it fits.
The audience was told she was the Mother. So her mannerisms matching Ted's were all the more endearing since she was shown to act like Ted's perfect mate. At least, that's why I think people loved her so much. They were happy because there was payoff to the 8+ mystery of the Mother being shown in real time.
I'd say season 5 is also worth watching as well, and in many ways works as a good transition to the finale. Season 6 is the really the start of "the wedding" foreshadowing and when the story seemingly set up all the pieces already but as you mentioned, set up things in play that the story was stuck with until the end.
Their history? I'm not saying it's not possible for men and women to be just friends, or that exes can't realistically still be friends after they broke up, but they're situation's gotta make it very difficult, especially since they didn't break up because they didn't care or love each other anymore, but because they…
I will admit, as much as I really like those Ted/Robin scenes, they were usually schmaltzy. And even then, I don't think that would be as big of a deal as I think it is if some of the Robin/Barney scenes didn't feel so artificial or felt hallow, which I'm realized might have been intentional so people like me would…
Dunno if this was your intentional reference or not, but I had to watch the ending to Scrubs "My Cold Shower" after seeing this comment. Even though the episode itself is really goofy and not that good, that ending gets to me every time.
One sour taste that Marshall and Lily's relationship does have though is that they didn't really get too much focus in the finale and thus had their big couple moment in the penultimate episode in Barney and Robin's wedding.
I don't know if I've brought this up before, but one of the biggest issues with Barney and Robin were their inability to handle the "bad times" and talk about their issues in their relationship.
I don't agree the ending betrays the premise. The show started with how Ted was talking about how he fell in love with the kid's Aunt Robin. I don't see how given that was the pilot episode and the first season was more or less about Ted trying to win Robin over meant that the ending doesn't make sense.
I disagree. I think Ted and Robin had great chemistry throughout all 9 seasons. The two enjoyed each other's company. They both wanted the other to truly be happy, and each tried their best to give dating advice to the other. And though both listened to the other's problem, Robin's able to talk to Ted about her…
Think the biggest thing Marshall and Lily had going for them as a couple is that the show never really tried to convince the viewers that the two are made for each other. They both like Evil Knievel, yes, but the show got across that the two cared about each other, and that's what matters. None of this "they are…
Think this deleted scene could fit continuity of Ted never confirmed that's what happened and he just suspected that to be the case. But Word of the Creators confirm that this is what happened.
It's a fitting end for the Captain though and Ted's relationship with him. He messed up his relationship with Zoey. Slept with Becky before they got together. Now Ted ruined this for him too.
The slaps themselves were disappointing, but I found myself laughing at Marshall's slapping training and the gang messing with Barney, at least much more than I thought. There were worse missteps in season 9 IMO like the No Questions Asked or the Rhyming episode.
Unfortunately the articles didn't get enough views/activity to justify continuing its coverage.
I don't get how people why so many people are angry that the show ending with Ted/Robin when the show begins with telling the story of how Ted fell in love with Robin. Sure we find out from the pilot that she's not the Mother, but since it started with how Ted loves her and goes throughout the story explaining why Ted…
My understanding was that the original plan was to never showcase the Mother the way they did, and the series was always meant to be about how Ted fell in and out of love with Robin so he can get back with her in the end.
I remember thinking this could be an interesting premise if they change the main characters each season. And each couple would have a different ending to their relationship. So one season could end with a marriage. Another would end with a bad breakup. A third could end with someone cheating on another person. Fourth…
