I'd heard that too, and I don't get it. I thought it was basically Chris Carter's crappy interpretation of Scully*, seen through a fictional writer's crappy interpretation of Scully. And a cheap way to show her in vulnerable positions, like taking her shirt off for a murdering creep. And the end—laying on her back on

I think the playing house stuff would've been even more entertaining if Scully had been able to have more fun with it, too, like they were both in on the joke, rather than Mulder being a goof and Scully gritting her teeth. A more feisty Scully would have had an awesome comeback to Mulder's "new ager" line.

It's always seemed strange that whenever Scully's Christianity is mentioned, he's all "Pfffft," yet with any other kind of spirituality, no matter how obscure, he's 100% on board from the get-go and will have proved its validity within the hour.

It also seems to me that Mulder would be one of the first "variables" she'd try to manipulate, since of the bank customers, he's always the most involved with what goes down.

I saw them at a Canadian stop on the PJ20 tour. They ripped everybody's heads off; it was great. Going to do it again at the end of the month in Missoula.

You're right, but it's Dales' brother, also named Arthur Dales (sure why not), played by M. Emmet Walsh.

I was also bothered by the fact that the Syndicate just calls them "aliens" and "rebel aliens." They'd been working with them for, what, 50 years? That's so much time to invent a cool code name, guys!
