My favorite album of 2012 so far. Terrific, sturdy, immediately gripping melodies. Deceptively simple lyrics: simple on the surface, but they range and explore such huge emotional and psychological terrain, they acquire real complexity in collective setting. "4th and Vine" is irresistible and almost shockingly

All surface, that place.

But he's jockey. He's like 5' in front of everyone. And everything.

Another superb episode, though the music cues are getting heavy handed: Dropkick Murphys AND Sigur Ros? Oh well.

Livia Soprano is the one that comes to mind. So petty, so empty, so cruel. But she was also so inventive at being a misery-pumping old cooze, I couldn't help but admire what I hated, and to love seeing that character on screen. No one could get under T's skin like that wrinkled-up incontinent broad.

But it IS a straight to NBC series.

I'm calling it. In the finale, we find out that it's the PROTAGONIST who actually died. Boom.

I've described the episode to friends as first half: slightly below average typical episode, second half: batshit fever dream about the South.

The whole Cherry Blossom thing mixed with Mamie was genius level disturbing absurdism, without any of the sentimental back-patting b.s. that makes even 'Louie' groan worthy at times (I hate the

Another superb episode. Bizarre that more people aren't watching this: the races are thrilling, the performances mesmerizing, and the show itself is big hearted and full of people with palpable passions and motivations. I agree, the scene between Marcus and Jerry was my favorite.

What We Talk About When We Talk About Subpar Music Criticism

Justified, like Sons of Anarchy, has the emotional complexity of a maladjusted 13 year old boy, all sound and fury and ownage and all alone in its little room.

Ah, good. My kind of asshole. Carry on.

Let me explain how the insulting thing works. To put me in my place, you should seize upon some particular lack that my retort evidenced. Simply recycling some half-remembered 'your mama' insult you overheard your older brother repeat from 'White Men Can't Jump' or 'The Last Boy Scout' or whatever isn't going to cut

Likewise, Royal Duke of Jackassery will never ever engage in passionate sex. Too many people have testified to its enjoyment and thrill.

Sixth, roll off your sister and find a new rhetorical strategy. This one
starts off annoying and only progresses downward.
