fam thank you but I have screeners (I try to watch every episode at least twice before reviewing, sometimes three)

This is a good call. I think I was thrown a bit by the way she uses the word "visit," which makes it sound like she was on vacation or something.

Aimee Mann isn't listed in the credits, but it does sound like her.

Where? That seems totally plausible to me, but haven't seen the interview/Tumblr post/whatever in question.

Hi! Thank you for this lovely and thoughtful comment. I'll totally fix the typo on Marielle Heller, thanks for pointing it out (these are super long so sometimes I miss stuff when I'm reading them over again).

I forgot to mention this, but I think she also looks quite a bit more masculine than normal. Like, every time she interacts with Peridot I just imagined her as a cool teen boy wearing a leather jacket or something.

I like Lars!

oh god they're going to kill me

Does it? I have this image in my head of them fusing after singing "Dear Old Dad" and it is awesome. (FWIW, I can see the kind of creepy connotations, but I like the idea that fusion can have a sexual component, but encompasses a lot of different types of love.)

This is a thing that comes up a lot. Here is as much as I know about it:

There you go.

Yes. Didn't quite want to make it so explicit in the review, but the thought definitely occurred to me.

I was very lucky and got these particular ones farther in advance than I normally do.

More on the Rose/Pearl relationship later this week.

Weird, my screener makes it look like it was produced later. I'll cut that part out.

This is exactly right.

Yeah, it's sort of unclear whether they'll be able to do that again. Though honestly, production is so far ahead of when the episodes air that they could probably give themselves at least a few months, if not longer, to get Aimee Mann, Nicki Minaj, etc. in the booth. (And Nicki already lives in LA.)

Rebecca claims it's not intentional, FWIW.

I had this thought too, but I do think it helps that Steven's first reaction to all of this happening is to yell about how awesome it is. Then, when Greg freaks out, he gets nervous that the same thing will happen to Connie, the human he's next-closest to, which leads him to be susceptible to Ronaldo (and also take on

Oof, this is right. I'm running on very little sleep/lots of Steven, will go back in and clean it up. EDIT: Should be fixed now.
