The scene with him and Oberyn in the throne room where he states his absence of desire leaves him "free to pursue other things", after which he nods to the throne. It could just be him saying he will always scheme to be a power broker at King's Landing, but that's redundant since we've known that forever. This scene

I didn't know Varys was gunning for the throne. That's a big reveal, no? I thought he drew his power from everything but power lust?

About the only thing I liked about the Dany segment was Jorah's "thems the breaks kiddo" look at Dany when she heard there were still some 200 people.

That's because the writing for Varys is 10x better than for Shae. Blame the writing for leading the audience to conclude what is plain to see. You are basically rationalizing a hypothetical character with Shae.

She could choose getting over it, living a happy rest of her life, and not dying.

>>And ultimately Tyrion took the most destructive possible route in dismantling their relationship.

Seriously, everything about her storyline is like this. If they're telling a story of someone in over her head they're doing the worst possible job of it.

I would say that Tyrion choosing to serve his family, the kingdom, trying to get his brother back, and trying to protect Sansa after what his family did to her are combined the easy and right call over Shae.

The level of vitriol directed at Cersei is exactly where it should be given her actions.

Tyrion wasn't enjoying "being a somebody". He felt a responsibility to protect his family and his captured brother.

This Shae debate having of an element of misogyny accusal is totally misguided. If it were based on misogyny then there would be an equal amount of hatred directed at Cersei for being a senseless bitch who is trying to have her brother killed. No, this is simply about Shae repeatedly ignoring and not understanding

Yes. He repeatedly warned her about the dangers of their relationship. It's not Tyrion's fault she was too dense to understand that and that apparently she possesses no self-awareness or an awareness of the people Tyrion is trying to protect her from. She is well-traveled and I think I remember hints of her being

I misread it. It came off condescending to me.

Watching 'Modern Family'

Coming from TIna Fey that's like getting tickled by an angel. NBC hates Harmon.

30 Rock took heaps of shots at the network, but nothing like this. Maybe this made it easier to bring down the hammer?

Are you serious? NBC cancelled their strongest performing sitcom that saved their ass time and again. 'Community' was anchoring their schedule in the toughest time slot.

It wasn't funny on TV either. Great performance sure, but not funny.

I wonder if he knew. Why else would he jump the gun on a Top 10?

Yup :(
