Also, Janet and Ted's car ride felt like a one-act play. I appreciate how logical it feels that Janet is Daniel and Amantha's mom. In a battle of wits, the Holden's have no mercy for the slow.

An outstanding episode of Rectify.
Good points - Jon's return to town was a good narrative catalyst.
"That's What She Said" - still timeless
A terrible loss. Election years will not be the same without her.
I still reference Ice-T's line:
I'd be looking forward to this if it were simply a 90 min "Best of Chappelle Show" tribute. Throw in Tribe, and this is the first SNL I record in roughly 10 years.
Not that I needed much convincing, but this episode alone justified the need for a fourth season.
The 3-month jump seems right (not that I have any actual insight into this process.) It's enough time where Daniel could develop a new routine, and also allows the plot in Paulie to progress.
The Daniel-Avery interaction was one of the best moments in Rectify: honest, heartbreaking, and optimistic.
I appreciated how one of the fellow New Canaan guys told Daniel "you're a smart guy" during the pep talk. His bookish tendencies were always there…Daniel might have had social difficulties regardless of what happened.
Square One avatar!
I cannot wait for the Rectify premier next week.
This is a few years old, but E-40 has an EXCELLENT interview with Ali Shaheed Muhammad here:
Yeah, the embedded rhymes on that verse are great:
It was a masterstroke to have this episode mostly overlap with the previous one, but shift perspective to Edgar. Not only do we view Gretchen's and Jimmy's comments to Edgar in new context, but it also forces the viewers to evaluate their prior reaction to those comments. Even Lindsay's tossed-off joke of calling…
I'd love to see this broken out by "voiced by cast member" and "voiced by guest star"…Sideshow Bob seems very high on the list.
Notable exception: "Fell in Love With A Girl"
Jon Hamm.
Totally - the reprogramming of Janet was running joke of the night.
