I was excited about this movie because FINALLY a female protagonist, FINALLY a woman director, FINALLY might break out of the Pixar mold.  But this trailer is seriously worrying.  I guess they're gonna break out of the Pixar mold so they can just recycle some of the oldest and most boring Disney/General "girl movie"…

We apparently also now have a Navy where everyone on board is totally ignorant of chain of command, which leads to lines like:

WHAT female characters?  Out of 12 films there have been like, TWO major female characters in Pixar films, ffs.  Three if you count the robot from Wall-E.  So we've got Mrs. Incredible/Elastagirl, the housewife, and the cowgirl from Toy Story.  Thanks Pixar, that's awesome female representation you got goin' there.

Tom also thought they should have cooked a roast and sliced it instead of cooking steaks which was the fucking challenge.  At this point the challenges on the show and the ridiculous team events, time after time, are really interfering with the ability to tell who is a good chef and who is a fuck up.

I'll go ahead and defend Heather - not a chef (she seems boring to me food-wise) but Beverly is clearly crap.  Her ideas are bizarre, she's slow as hell, she's only looking out for herself when everyone is helping each other out - I don't blame Heather for being driven nuts by her.  I'M driven nuts by her.

Because Tintin is one of the world's most famous characters?  I mean seriously, dude.  The property is 72 years old.  In huge chunks of the world, Tintin is as recognizable as Mickey Mouse.  I bet you don't know who Shah Rukh Kahn is either.

I was skeptical about the motion capture animation at first too, because it looks creepy in the trailers, but in the film it actually works really well and it's a gorgeous movie.  And I'm an animation snob, so.  Don't let that stop you from seeing it - it's really fun.

Yeah, that was the most clever and interesting thing he's done so far.  IDK, I am annoyed by the simplicity and banality of his "message" pieces but as a contestant on a show he's playing the game very well.
