Don't think this show has actually earned the right or audience goodwill to be coasting the way it has for the past few episodes.

I still maintain the writers freaked over the "Father-Daughter are really really close" online banter and changed direction storywise. Dallas/George don't work. Period.

Indeed.

Indeed. And does this show have black writers on staff? Or are they just tapping into the zeitgeist?

Dude KOTH has a good run and was getting crappy towards the end.

Man this show.

Not feeling this season at all so far. It's a combo of typical fourth season sitcom woes, and no Harmon. But even if I was clueless about his departure you can definitely sense a different tone and sensibility;that doesn't necessarily mean an automatic bad thing but it's just not clicking. Broad character traits are

THAT'S what got me about 3rd Rock. An okay show at the time but the (intentional) overacting and bluster prevents me from calling it a personal favorite.

Good ep but abrupt end to this arc. I could never take Parisse seriously as "super bad ass assassin killer" however. Felt a tad miscast. Or maybe I can't see her any anything other than an assistant DA.

IMHO, I think the writers sort of freaked when people were goofing around with the "George-Tessa are kinda too close" jokes and it's playing havoc with premise of the show (i.e George/Dallas together too quickly, intro'ing the mother so fast) as they purposefully keep their lives apart.

I wouldn't say it was "awesome." It was cute, had heart, and didn't hit the average sitcom beats — even thought most plots boiled down to Kate thinking she sucks as a single mom.

Why would the black guy have a "deal?"

The camera angles were there to mask the fact of little actual dancing ability/ choreography was happening.

He's trying far too hard to be funny. That's the biggest thing that turns me off this show.

Hmmm..something feels off about this season. Was there a major writer change? It's as zany and rapid fire as ever but I feel it's missing some of the heart from most of last season.

Agree to disagree on this one. Poor character development is poor character development. Especially that bullshit line Glenn says about his character AFTER he's zombie chow. Major or minor, all characters should have some defining thing that makes us care about them and they dropped that ball on him.

So the subtext of your rationale appears to be "T-Dogg couldn't be fleshed out as a character because a major black guy from the comics will be added soon."
