For the record…love these books but am also frustrated with his output. It'll be interesting to see what happens if A) the show stays on through the printed series and (b) what they'll do if they lap Martin. I've heard they're doing a season per book or that's there aim.

I think Todd's right about the mostly weak scripts but if there's one thing that I can definitely say about The Middle (and the rest of the ABC Comedy Wednesday shows) is that they have really invested in building the characters and the world.

Beg to differ but it's not like "same sex" isn't a label. I see no negative connotation to the word lesbian, unless you're a bigot to begin to begin with.
