It was the combination of how downtrodden Truly sounded and Fanny's ability to just go along with it that made me laugh.

I don't blame him. This show is completely inextricable from Gilmore Girls in tone, dialogue and cast for anyone who's watched it.

I believe the true solution is to Clockwork Orange everyone into watching Gilmore Girls.

Tobin! The night manager for the Independence Inn and later on Sookie's nanny.

I remember reading that Siobhan Finneran was the other cast member who was hesitating to renew their contract. This plot might have been an awkward way of giving O'Brien an out for next season if they needed it.

The thing is that knowledge of a future character death means that a series *can* have higher stakes and more entertaining plots for the character because they know it's now or never. A lot of shows tread water on obvious or major character developments because they don't want to run through all their material too

Edith will get her own love triangle with the Patrick Mummy and editor-with-a-crazy-wife! As with everything in her life, the two suitors pale in comparison to Mary and her Richard and Matthew triangle.

If it turned out that Archer or another character had raped someone, I think some people would still cry foul because it's hard to laugh with/at a rapist. It's the fact that Ray is the one doing it that adds an extra layer of offence since it plays into the gay rapist cliche and Archer normally handles offensive jokes

Pretend this scene came at the start of Series 4 Episode 1, it'll make you feel better.

I think I found the War Child plot and Eve's actress unengaging and by that point I'd run out of generosity for the show. Plus the opportunity to turn Annie into a properly strong leader seemed wasted. I certainly didn't envy Whithouse his task and he pulled together some great stuff like Cutler and Regus for the

For the people put off by the wacky sounding premise, actually take a stab at the show. By the time you get to Series 1 Episode 4, you'll find that the show is miles better than its premise suggests.

Honestly, Series 4 is kind of a crapshoot, saddled with the uncomfortable task of replacing all its key characters. Series 5, freed of all that shit, is proving stellar just from the first two episodes.

Yet Daisy still manages to run off on errands for fatally ill plot devices.

I was actually annoyed at how tolerant Carson was for someone established to be a stickler for tradition and conservatism. Fellowes just can't bring himself to accurately portray what Carson's attitude ought to be because it'd destroy Carson for a modern audience.

@Violina23:disqus : When did they say that was Mitchum's motivation? I never got the impression that Mitchum did it to sabotage Rory and he seemed adamant that it was an honest criticism when Richard confronted him about it.

Perhaps a regular contract locks her in too much and would cost more for the studio than just keeping her as recurring (I'm thinking Tara in Buffy Season 5 when they had the largest cast the show ever had). Plus ASP and Bishop's established working relationship probably means it's unlikely she'll cut and run.

Yeah, it establishes that, although we're unlikely to see her leave Paradise permanently any time soon, Michelle could and will leave if the situation gets bad enough. Even though we know she'll have to come back eventually for the show to continue, it doesn't mean that Sasha and the others won't be devastated.

Ohhhh, I was wondering what that was about. It makes Scotty's concerns over Michelle becoming her mother's daughter and disappointing Sasha a lot clearer.

At this point, I wish they had just named him Tom because he's pretty much playing the same character. Plus the notion of Stars Hollow coexisting with Paradise is pretty awesome.
