Sometimes Joan Watson does have some traditional Watson responses, though. Like when she "exclaims" or "cries" as she catches on to Holmes' train of thought, or at the impossibility of a situation.

Poor Miles. He's like a teacher fielding a barrage of disgruntled students waving their C+ in his face. I wasn't going to download it because of the lukewarm review but I have to see Holmes "little nod of pride" . I give Miles' review a B- partly because his thinly veiled bribe for Clyde made me laugh.

Especially if you're a teenage female person.

What a great mentor Sherlock is. If real life mentors were so generous things would be different for some of us.

And whether Sherlock wants friends — that is, actively seeks connection. As it seems he does with Joan, anyway.

"…I imagine that the subsequent battle is going to bring her and Will back
together. It just has to. I can’t have them fighting anymore."

Exactly. The line at 16 years of age was remarkable. Before that, it was statutory rape and afterwards you were fair game. I'm still surprised when I see 16 year olds considered "children" when it comes to pedophilia. The Family Ties episode sounds more like it was handled on the show as inappropriate social behavior

I just watched the one and only Different Strokes I ever saw and I have to agree with Donna Bowman — really not so bad. I didn't grow up with that awareness that gets drilled into children now but I did meet guys like that when I was a kid and it did seem a believable escalation (though pretty compressed). The

I agree Shwimmer's a really good actor, but I started to really dislike the
character, especially when he was lovelorn, and that got in my way
sometimes of appreciating him. When he was self-aware about his
narcissism, that worked for me. I think Jennifer Aniston is an
underrated actress. With Friends, though, all

This is how it went when Laura told Dick she was pregnant:

She should have stayed with Tag, he was the best — sweet and funny and way more fun than Ross. .

Hey, nice reference. That's going back a ways. I really hope the new Doctor isn't a woman.

Aw, that was good. If Matthew wasn't improvising, he really is a natural. It reminded me that the reason I still like watching Friends even when it gets on my nerves is that they just had a lot of class. The way they stuck together on salary, that they really did seem to enjoy their moment and treated each other

I watched it to the point where Jennifer took issue with being called "missy" or "honey" or some such word, enjoyed the way she continued to react as a twenty-something should and then thought of the data charges and pressed "exit" to exit.

Since he entered rehab due to their intervention, seems like they might have had a fallback plot if he didn't come back to the show. Though not, of course, foreseeing what happened, since if they did, perhaps they would have handled the intervention differently.

Ah. Mystery solved.

A little Phoebe went a long way as far as I'm concerned, partly because so much melodrama was attached to her and fairly gothic at that. Chandler had that breakup with Janice when he was ready to commit, which made subsequent episodes where he's still trying to get away from her totally inexplicable. Joey tended to

I always liked that Chandler is actually competent at work — he's the only one who never gets fired from a job, isn't he? That combination of insecurity but having all these strong qualities, like being able to cope with adult life, that he doesn't seem to recognize in himself — that's interesting to me. And he was

"The moment that absolutely did me in is Thomas’ breakdown in the corner
after the servants are told. “She was kind to me, and I can tell you,
not many have been kind to me in my life.” Ugh. Done. Just done."

I'm late to the party too, just watched all 3 seasons this month. I haven't been a very critical viewer, I just like it. When it gets boring I watch the view. I liked the country fair, liked Scotland. Surprisingly, Mrs. Hughes was a dominant presence, but she's one of my favorites. I predict Branson will become a
