the second half of season three is a huge improvement.  stick with it.

You got curmudgeony.  You are a curmudgeon.

Todd needs a Gateway to Geekery article something fierce.

you'll find that a lot of the people that prefer Days to Weeks are very loud, but demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge and understanding in regards to filmmaking and film storytelling.  they are also unreasonably excited about the avengers movie.

can he stay there, that would be great

Sure are a lot of posts about The Strokes in this thread - are we sure it's not 2002?

HEY son of MECHA MUMMY, you're a fat piece of shit and i'm a fucking certified member of mensa and you comment a bunch, without irony, on stupid reality tv shows and you're gonna fucking come at me?  come on down to los angeles sometime and i'll whoop yer ass straight son.  do you have a master's degree?  no you watch

I AM MORALLY AND INTELLECTUALLY SUPERIOR

I AM MORALLY SUPERIOR

YEAH WELL NOW THAT IT'S 4:30AM AND I'M DRUNK i can offer a rebuttal as clever as "HOW ABOUT FUCK YOu" and also wondering whether i was the only paying attention to Cool Things like francois ozon movies or whatever while you stupid nerds enjoyed Clerks The Animated Series

I think self-immolating and losing the very little professional respectability and credibility you had qualifies as "pulling a Troy Duffy", thank you very much Comic Book Guy.

it's pretty amazing how many great filmmakers can barely form a sentence.  i attended a q&a with todd solondz once and he didn't answer questions so much as he acted flustered and nervous.

classic vincent gallo anecdote, for those who haven't seen it:  “Abel Ferrara was on so much crack when I did The Funeral, he was never on set. He was in my room trying to pick-pocket me.”

aaah for real?  that's a bummer.  i'm rarely "in the mood" to watch bad lieutenant though so i hadn't discovered this (this means i am a normal person)

Spoken by somebody who truly thinks they're "edgy"

So we could see him flame out in the slowest, most grotesque fashion possible ("I buy my movie for $20!  Fuck you for supporting me, Weinstein!!!")

Clerks: The Animated Series was, to the best of my recollection, a six episode flop from a has-been geek icon whose most loyal fans jumped ship some ten-odd years ago after he became a sweaty, pot-smoking parody of himself.  Smith last made headlines for pulling a Troy Duffy.  Please stop giving this idiot work.

Why?  Who wants this?  What purpose does this serve?  Was anyone really clamoring for this?

(Todd) Rundgren doesn't play well to the nostalgia crowd - his shows are strictly for the hardcore.  You'll more likely see him rambling about politics, play an hour long guitar solo, or get drunk and badly rap to backing tracks off his laptop.  And you know what?  Always a good time.  So not a contradiction at all.
