It's not just homerism, the Canadian commentators were gushing about the US team's performance too. That is, in between moments where they were, hilariously, asserting that the Canadian team coming in fifth is 'like a gold' for them.

They didn't, there was a throwaway line about how Odin needed a lot of energy to send Thor to earth "now that the bifrost is broken". That's why he used the macguffin, er, tesseract to take loki back.

@avclub-d019eb089e65903455cc52308f00b997:disqus "if you weren't awful, why would you be mean?" Insecurity, jealousy, bad home life, whatever. She is meant to be a teenager in Buffy, after all. Didn't hate Sunnydale Cordelia at all, she's just a kid who's kind of a jerk, but also, y'know, has the normal spectrum of

Didn't Dwight kind of admire her strong-arming her way into Andy's job? Also I don't know if he considers the people in the office his 'friends'. Quibbling a bit I guess. This show certainly isn't very strong on character motivations lately, Andy's bit only works if you imagine that he's just a sweeter version of

Yea, one of the reasons that joke worked pretty well for me is that I too couldn't remember if Stanley had a moustache. At one point i was wondering if he had a goatee.

I actually thought this episode worked on the whole. Definitely suffered from poor development in prior episodes (Andy and Erin, Jessica), but as a stand alone, I'd have gone more to the 'B' range.

Just saw @Merve2:disqus's reply. Excellent burn, haha.

I love that NHL hockey is somehow making regular appearances here, but I'd recommend the Caps/Panthers game over Penguins/Rangers. Significantly worse teams, but big playoff implications from that game, so its likely to have some intensity.

So on the front page they call Greendale "Glendale Community College", seems like an odd mistake for a panting fan site to make.

Actually I think the implication was: given the huge judgmental barriers our society puts up against homosexuality, especially for men, if you experiment with sex with other guys its probably because you have stronger desires in that direction. Basically the shit men have to put up with for hooking up with other dudes

Yea that's a good point. If I knew a real life Schmidt dating a real life CeCe, my response would be more along the lines of: "wait… WHAT?". I really enjoy the fictional version, though.

I thought that the show did a reasonably good job of establishing why they'd be together. She previously dated a string of attractive losers, he's reasonably attractive, and treats her quite well. She also calls him on his extreme douchiness fairly often.I dunno, I believe it.

I read that as 'last' celebrity distractions, and was briefly excited. Worst case scenario, no more celebrity related press for Glee, best case scenario, no more Glee.

While the initial proposal was shot down by the NHLPA, realignment will probably still be decided during the CBA negotiations this summer. That is, assuming they can reach an agreement on anything at all this summer. So, seems like the blurb is mostly right.

Ms. Fluke never addressed abortion in her remarks, IIRC. Pretty sure pro-lifers don't think contraception = manslaughter. Although who knows, every sperm is sacred after all.

Wow, I literally just got back from watching Requiem For a Dream on a date. Neither of us had seen it. Great movie, terrible date, fun synchronicity.
