Haven't seen this mentioned yet. I watched/listened with earphones on - and the (new!) music was fantastic.

I only know her as the flaky fashion friend on SPACED.

It just takes a bit of time to get used to it. Also - there's a bonus - it's surprising how many shows are close-captioned before the final edit is done. This means you sometimes get to read lines that were edited out, or completely rewritten.

Great casting choice for this. Joaquin spent several years as a child with the Children of God cult before his parents had the sense to leave.

Kingston is playing the hell out of the part, and she's fine enough of an actress to perhaps add to what is written.

I love that Doctor Who is just "gay people are normal regular people". It's not a special episode of the week like a Law & Order, or 'token' gays on a sitcom. Even though it's a fantastical science fiction show, it shows people as normal people. It's an influence on every kid who watches it (as it should be).

Moffat must have had either a really interesting or really boring childhood, because his 'villians' are the type that scare the shit out of kids.

Doctor Who is for 8 year old British kids to watch from behind a sofa.

ION was playing the first two seasons of Durham County, which is weird because that series would fit in with a Showtime or AMC. WAY too disturbing for the typical ION viewer!
