It's been many years since I've read The End of Alice, but I remember it being a pretty powerful book.  I could see the subject matter being too much for many readers though.

Plot hole!  It was clearly established in a previous episode that Ruxin isn't allowed to do "the serious stuff" at home and must save it for the office.  Now I'm expected to believe that he can take tinker stinkers in the comfort of his own home?  How dare you, The League?

I thought that was a great line too.  To me it brought back an elderly Bob Odenkirk squeaking out "my life.." after the death of his long time partner/enemy.
