* Yes & of course "Sunday Morning Coming Down" has the famous phrase about putting on "my cleanest dirty shirt" & going down from his apt. to meet the day etc.

I saw this today by accident because it was starting when I was walking by & I couldn't resist … It's refreshing to see this honest review after previously reading Stephen Holden's pussyfooting as to how amazingly awful this really was … To say nothing of Amy Biancolli's Man Upright in the Chair — definitely shoulda

they had those (literally) at selected Starbucks in Seattle and Texas … Apparently they weren't a huge hit & of course got removed eventually — but I tried it once, really enjoyed it — & still listen to that disc a lot …

Surprised not to see any mention of the whole magnificent opening food court & escalator break-up scenes in Valley Girl — segueing to the beach scene that sets the plot in motion — (& which starts to get our baser hopes up of seeing the Pee Wee's Big Adventure girl topless all too soon!)

Probably a  very good idea to keep it shut if opening it means spouting all of that jive about: "I COULD wine & dine you … OR I COULD be your best friend & lick your pussy … I'll be whatever you want me to be … I'll do anything except beat you up…"

And, by the by, what about Patty Duke in "The Miracle Worker" !!!!!!! Isn't that about as "memorably inarticulate" as it's possible to get ?!?!?

I'd like to nominate the entire cast of "KES" !!! The first time I saw it I had to wonder why it had a reputation as such a critically acclaimed masterpiece …

* TIGGER (Mexico) : Mexicans dig on Tigger even more than Winnie himself … (OK, Brit incipience but Disney version is American)

* Doesn't seem like anyone's mentioned the version of "God Only Knows" on the new MOJO Pet Sounds covermount … One can scarcely imagine a more cheeky song to cover, but they pull it off at about a 3/5 star level — which indeed one could probably say about most of those on there — or on those sorts of projects … The L.

Yes, Zappa is a particularly egregious omission — since he would surely seem to be the non plus ultra in this category — to the extent that one would almost feel that he had a patent on jokey titles like this! He had billions of them & so deserves the mention!

* Surprised to see no one arguing for inclusion of Amadeus … For my money the extended (well-done) opera sequences allowed for more of an immersive experience in the film …
