@avclub-09f700cd7fcae2e9f63ea6cdb7aa76b0:disqus , thanks for exposing my racism. JK. Wow, I totally thought it was Penn but then it's been nearly a decade since I saw Scary Movie 3 and maybe I conflated it with Harold and Kumar, I saw them in pretty close proximity.

@avclub-d83db5f35f6ff3433edc33b58e6af6e0:disqus , you mad bro?

@avclub-641e167f974d1dd076c0886d17271975:disqus , I'm with you. I like shock cinema too but it takes a special kind of depraved asshole to watch A Serbian Film at a houseparty where children are present…. oh Hai, @avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus !

And why doesn't batman dance anymore?

Fair. But I never found the show super grounded to begin with so the Russo plotline seemed like par for the course. Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't the Underwood smears blood on someone's face scene happened already? But my real tip off this was going to be straight melodrama is when the credits "Directed by Joel

@avclub-fec1b8d3fbc08f27a84e5a334d45bb5a:disqus , do remember Alf? Well he's back: in Pog form.

Don't make us gouge your eyes out.

@mandaliet nailed it. Also, remember that Frank covered up Russo's coked-out hooker run-in with the law. Having that tidbit leak to the press would torpedo his VP bid.

Yeah, Batman's not wearing a spray painted on superhero costume.

@zxcvb, Me and you are done professionally.

The songs about holding hands….

Have to agree. I mean it's not like I expected super fawning praise but they are being a tad harsh in their criticism. Even the reviewer admits that Russo's final hour has a tragic feeling to it. So if it's successful in that regard wouldn't a B or B- make more sense? Also, I took Russo's murder as an improvised means

@avclub-7cadd1624259398eeed1b26bc07db7b5:disqus ,
Well I certainly inferred that Underwood's machinations post-Russo implosion were improvised. I guess there's a fine line between being to ham-handed with the exposition (which admittedly would have been easy to inject given Underwood's tendency to break the fourth

Inception was the first warning sign that Nolan became a sell-out money whore.

@avclub-d83db5f35f6ff3433edc33b58e6af6e0:disqus  tremendous flaws in logic? You were being a flippant dick, I responded in kind and now you're hiding behind "logic"? Yes: "shit sandwhich" is tremendously logically sound. Are you a Vulcan?

What I gleaned from The Dark Knight Rises was Batman's primary super power was being a tremendous quitter. At the drop of the hat, he throws in the towel.
I hope this trend of  weepy and ineffectual=deep charactization ends with Nolan's over-hyped and under-realized debacle.

The best line in Scary Movie 3 is when Sheen is going to see his dying wife and the guy (Kal Penn as M. Night) who ran her down looks at him from the side of the road and says "I'm going to need a ride home".
I laughed for minutes straight after that one.

2 sucks pretty bad but did have David Cross tossing his own salad.

That's unpossible!

I disagree. There wasn't anything overly maudlin about it, given the situation, circumstances and characters. A drunk trying to drunk call his kids when he hits rock bottom and the kids not wanting a part of it is hardly over the top. I concede the dialogue could have been tweaked but its hardly the trainwreck the
