RTD actually did have a gay agenda, he was really open about it. He believed in foregrounding gay characters in order to normalize them in the eyes of kids. He talks about it in his book, so it's not some kinda paranoid fantasy. vOv

He's a legit sexist and has been really vocal about it since his divorce.
The tone varies a lot depending on who's writing it, but basically it's a sci fi adventure serial about a time-traveling alien who essentially grows a new bod whenever he dies.
No, but it's not a forgone conclusion that it wouldn't have happened if it it were sold to an American, Brophelia.
Private collections very often wind up getting "loaned" to museums and archives, broseph
Both Daniel Rigby and Peter Capaldi have surged from behind to near the top of the list.
They're not idiots. They just live in a very very tiny bubble where inconsequential things are a huge deal and their actions have massive side-effects and also there's no real established playbook that works for shit.
IIRC the rationale is that abbreviated titles are more 'proper' than given names.
Am I the only one who thought it was odd that Jonah didn't immediately see what was wrong with the Pork? Food Choice is one of his areas.
But she didn't want the baby. It was made clear numerous times that she did not want the baby. She is not a particularly warm or maternal person and she doesn't really care about her daughter. So it's entirely consistent that she wouldn't be traumatized.

Didn't Josh Radnor say he wanted the show to end with the revelation that the kids are dead, Ted is insane, and then a slow pan over to a window outside of which a blasted post-apocalyptic hellscape is visible?
@avclub-71c722e063b38e2411d1c766bcd2ccb8:disqus Even that racism tends to be more covert or affective though. My point isn't that Americans are less racist, just that they hide it better. Even when being staggeringly racist towards people of middle eastern descent, most mainstream discourse will use codewords to sort…
What Americans don't really understand is that overt, over the top racism was (and to an extent, still is) a part of British culture in a way that it isn't in the states. To paraphrase Lee Atwater, overt racism became toxic in America very rapidly due to the civil rights movement. Racism became more affective and…
According to David Mitchell. who was admittedly uninvolved, it wasn't their fault. Based on his conversations with them they were utterly powerless throughout the entire writing process and were essentially railroaded by the US Execs who were hell-bent on things like brand integrity and shit, and actually being funny…
Somehow I don't know if more time would've helped. The chapter about Helen and her Boss was written eight years ago. This book was an incredibly slow project.
It's his fourth book, but his first novel. The others were collections of familiar essays and I think some of his magazine writing. Fraud was about situations in which he felt false, Don't Get Too Comfortable was about luxury and decadence, and Half Empty was about pessimism, anhedonia and depression.
So hard to believe that it' had the same writers that are behind Peep Show.
