Not only that, nowadays if a publisher didn't provide his editors with computers on their desks they would fire the guy.  Also, production managers would be sacked in today's day and age if they used those old fashioned linotype printing presses like they did at the newspaper in "Mr. Deeds…"

I did live in that movie, so to speak.  I grew up in SoCal in the 70s, lived in Malibu and frequented the track with my Dad and uncles.  I miss 1970s California.

In the original scripted ending after Segal's epiphany he tells Gould he's leaving and goes outside to hail a cab.  Gould runs after Segal to prove he can quit when he wants as well but as they are getting into the cab Gould gets into a conversation with some people who are about to go into the casino and ends up

Demy made 4 classics, I would add The Young Girls of Rochefort. It is probably the film you don't think aged well but I'd completely disagree.
