@avclub-0108709d613bc1d1db7e5c2b5f02c657:disqus  Shut up Leonard!

Nicely done. I would have added Fucking Notifications: "I got a (insert favorite tv show) notification for THIS?!"

Fair enough Captain Prickhard. That song just grates on me a bit, but I have always thought of this album as Joel's best and this discussion has also prompted me to rummage through my old CD's and give it another listen.

I think what the article is saying is that the live version from Songs in the Attic is more well known, since it was a hit single released after the success of albums like The Stranger and 52nd Street. Not that I would know anything about the history of Billy Joel's music or anything. Because, you know, I'm way too

That last "Rape! Murder!" where her voice breaks into an all out scream and you can hear Mick Jagger react with a "Woo!" is one my all time favorite rock and roll moments on record. It gives me chills every time.

Thanks for the reminder of that "Domination" video game scene. It seemed like a holographic combination of Battlezone and Risk. Also, still waiting for force feedback controllers that deliver a painful electric shock.

@e_buzz_miller:disqus  Sure, nobody likes 'Cats' NOW, but back then a lot of people payed big money to see it on Broadway. In fact, it won all kinds of Tony awards, including best musical in… wait for it… 1983!!! See why this was so important?!

Wait, did you like cats, or did you like 'Cats'? This is important.

Fair enough. This is one of the few shows I have pretty much binged straight through without coming up for air very often. I do know for me thinking back on this season, individual scenes and events are often hard to pin down in my brain as belonging to a particular episode, but my overall impression of the show is

Can't what you're saying also be partly attributed to the nature of binge watching rather than consuming one episode per week?

Yes he has greyed, but when he gets really riled up it's easier to make the connection.

I'm not as familiar with their recordings after Stain, but from Time's Up I always felt the climax was "This is the Life" - the Zeppelin influence may have been too overt for some, but it worked for me. Always loved the way Glover sang that last "This is the life" adding several syllables to "this' and "is" with that

Went to see Dawes play an outdoor 4th of July concert in downtown Rochester for $2 right before fireworks.  I thought they were very good, but that shouldn't surprise people on this site - I used to see their name all the time in the comments here.

I thought these were two of the best episodes of the show, particularly "Projections." Good to see Julie Warner, who played the projected wife with the kids in the restaurant scene. I remember thinking she was a stand out in pretty good movies like Doc Hollywood and Indian Summer back in the early 90's. Looking at

The 4 Non Blondes song is called "What's Up?" …unless you think he should hate on Marvin Gaye.

I think your reasoning is sound. Certainly no one should ever imply that others are "doing it wrong" by only running through anything once, and the idea that something "requires multiple viewings" suggests that the work itself has failed. I have re-experienced some bits of culture and thought that my time might be

"Oh my God do I pray…" that I never hear this song again. I too didn't realize it was named 'What's Up?' I guess they were rightfully too ashamed to give this the same name as the Marvin Gaye classic.

@avclub-5dedb42b34e50082065a783265ce28a8:disqus  They talk about the origin of this song and using the line from Souls of Mischief in their interview on All Songs Considered: http://www.npr.org/blogs/al…

Dude, that is SO offensive. The Holocaust was nothing compared to this. I know because once I watched "Hitler's Children" on Netflix streaming. Feel free to throw it on the bottom of your queue - it'll never expire.

Doesn't it scare you? Working with evil forces? What?
Evil forces.
Evil? No man, it's not evil. It's an illusion.
Confusion?
(pumps fist) Thank you!
