I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but the guy is remarkable at recognizing talented, often unknown actors and getting good performances from them.

In light of the upcoming elections, and the downfall of American hero Lance Armstrong, It seemed to me this film struck a few chords as far as how people are apt to adopt the subjective reality (and morality) that best suits them, and then feel bewildered by and alienated from those that have chosen an opposing…

That's right - thanks for the reminder! I saw Brothers McMullen in the theater, and forgot about it the next day. I do remember thinking how stupid it was that guy was thinking about leaving his gorgeous wife… Connie Britton in her first role!  She was miscast because her presence made the whole thing implausible.
