Best opening to a song maybe?
Best opening to a song maybe?
(Ciao Baby) That video got soooo much airplay. I could probably still sing along with the chorus despite only ever hearing the song on TV.
Yeah. Throwing Muses. Magnapop. Lush. There may be a hidden trend in my music collection.
For some definition of that word…
Found it. I guess it pays to click more than one link in the article.

And now I guess I have plans for September.
First song I heard of theirs was Hypocrite and, yeah, not a lot of the rest was comparable. But there was enough differently good stuff on Split, (Undertow, Kiss Chase, etc) that I stuck around.
No US dates though. Boooo.
I still have a T-Shirt from when I saw them on the Lovelife tour.
The "Cold Cold Christmas" bonus track is also a winner.
Every human grief resolved, in the order twas received
Yeah. I'll be seeing this one regardless of reviews. Maybe it won't end up a part of the regular holiday rotation (like Rare Exports) but its still probably worth a watch.
Not sure how well equity will work out for a Kickstarter-like project. The devs will get paid but every investor is essentially a lost sale since they, as far as equity goes, are getting the game for free. I'm not sure how many additional sales beyond investors the game will make. For all the (well-deserved) love it…
The weavewashing of Hollywood continues.
nuh uh
And the albums he inspired like Carpenter Brut https://www.youtube.com/wat…
The disconnectedness of the later sections is somewhat the point. And the acting is stilted because its a mix of people trying to act value-sized crazy and people trying to act as if they are trying to act as if everything is normal when its not.
Old movie (80s? 90s?) called The Kindred is also pretty Lovecraftian. It may have some effects that don't hold up any more but it was the first thing I saw that had that vibe to it.
Right. I can't even really evaluate it clearly as a horror film because it all works so well as a metaphor for grief. That if you just keep calm and carry on and try to pretend its all fine that it just grows into something bigger and more horrible until it completely overtakes you. That the whole "it gets better"…
I love that one too. I also was starting to enjoy the break down at the end of Clearest Blue but then realized I really just wanted to hear Do the Whirlwind: https://www.youtube.com/wat…
Grr! Your strongly held opinions differ from my nostalgia tinged ones! At the time, that album was great!
Dammit. I just bought the new Chvrches and now you people keep making Technique comparisons which promise to further de-fatten my wallet.
