There are definitely parts of it which are insufferable (who the fuck thought relationship drama was just what Scooby Doo needed?), but I like the idea of Scooby Doo with a continuing narrative. I just wish that narrative wasn't focused so heavily on if Shaggy will choose Scooby over Velma.

The new Scooby Doo has an episode where a hefty portion of the characters from these other shows show up for some competitive mystery solving. I've only caught pieces of the show when the kids watch it but there seems to be a theme of "this has all happened before" going on. Now I'm wondering if the show is more meta

Similes.

I gawt an Adum Sandwich notification for this?

You mean Wright Sed Phred. He wasn't female though.

The worst condemnation a man can receive…

All-star Superman made him interesting just by focusing on what exactly super abilities would feel like.

I could see this being a nice mediocre film along the lines of any of the reality bending device films. Kid finds a book which seems to be describing his life and makes a choice in the book and sees it play out. At the climax he faces a choice with no obvious good answer, makes a bad choice and we get a bad ending and

This song (and movie) and Rush's Working Man made 9 to 5 out to be a cruel and inhuman number of hours The Man forces people to work. Those kinds of hours don't sound so bad these days.

Not surprising. Its got that great pop opening of Happy New Year and Eighties Fan. Though catchy pop-wise Let's Get Out Of This Country is more consistent. What's your opinion of I Love My Jean?

What does "Desire Lines" mean? Only time I'd ever encountered the phrase before was as a Lush track off of Split. It seems unlikely that this album would be an homage.

You like "Death", well how about some "Death Cab For Cutie"? Bout the same, right?

Get out of this country.

As a fan of heist movies and magic movies I actually was intrigued when I saw the trailer. Its not going to be brilliant, but it could still be good popcorn, though in a less flashy way than F6. My guess is like the review says, how you feel about this movie is likely all going to come down to how you feel about its

"Black as midnight, black as pitch, blacker than the foulest witch." is some impressive ass kissery when your boss is known as Darkness. I often think there's another movie to be told in which Blix is clearly the protagonist.

Nah. The title of the piece says it all. Its basically the AV Club saying "Dude, you like movies about cars? You should totally watch Sorceror. Its good". There's more meat to be had certainly which they could further explore in a Scenic Routes or something, but its a good enough way to shine some light on something
