The best interpretation I saw of BvS was that Snyder is actually really good at the cinematic equivalent of comic splash panels. I thought that it was a fantastic direction for Man of Steel, setting up for a very intriguing universe: this isn't the cartoon Superman , who's somehow kind of invulnerable and superstrong, and yet routinely thrown around in the same way that Batman or Flash are thrown around.
That'd be a really intriguing interpretation of that scene, and sounds like a great idea. But it doesn't look like that's what happened at all. At :45, Superman grabs the top of Zod's head and seems to pull it in the same direction as Zod was forcing.
I forgot completely about his financing.
If I understand it, he overexpanded. He built one casino, and then decided to build a bigger and splashier casino (against warnings from more experienced people). There was too much capacity, so the fixed expenses killed both. Plus, it also really hurt the other Atlantic City casinos.
