I have to disagree. I thought the movie's interpretation of Pa Kent *worked*, and made for a more alienated Superman and a colder world. It's different than the traditional comics, but I don't hold that against it; and it would in theory do a better job of setting up future conflicts that can't just be punched away.

I never thought you of all people would roll snake eyes in a critical encounter like facing Aubrey Plaza.
