A lot of them are fun to watch the first time, but they often don't hold up to repeat viewing all the way through. I'll listen to a lot of the music from those films on repeat for years to come.

The soundtracks for most of those films were usually 10 times better than the actual films. Even for the better films. Superfly is one of the best soul albums of the 1970s, than you watch the film and it's just okay…
"In the clearest sign that the ’90s’ nostalgia for the ’70s has returned …"
Yeah, Norm is just naturally funny—he could do skits and characters on SNL, but he could be funny just being himself as well.
Stupid anti-free market Punisher, he's always spoiling everyone's fun.
They ranked him like six spots from the bottom—below a bunch of bit players who no one even remembers who barely lasted a season(some of whom barely even showed up in many skits before they left). He was on the show for over 4 years, had Weekend Update, he did funny Bob Dole, Larry King, Quentin Tarrantino, and Burt…
I like that they gave Norm the mission of talking Eddie into doing it. Hey, he's a nice guy, he's Canadian.
Just once I'd like to see an uninspiring sports film where a franchise or high school team is doing great until they get a new coach or manager who decides to shake things up and then completely ruins the team's chances of winning anything, that ends with most of the good players leaving in anger.
Or the world's laziest undercover DEA agent…
Does he do Pepperidge Farm-style gift baskets?
I'll take the sampler pack…
The best part of that Oscar selfie is the bemused hobo seat-filler on the left watching it being taken…oh wait, that's Jared Leto.
I just want more of that sweet, sweet Rehoboth Beach sound.
"Every one stand back, he's got a piano!"
He was great in Road House.
I love being from Northern California, because whenever I travel across the US, 1) Everyone assumes that I grew up in LA
2)Everyone assumes that everywhere in California is way hotter year-round than where they grew up.
We tend to be more protective of melodies and then to a lesser extent riffs, but distinct drum beats and rhythms can be copied by thousands and it's not considered appropriation. The Bo Diddley beat, intro to "Be My Baby", "Funky Drummer" beat have been used so many times you can't even keep count. The drummer for…
I agree, though awards for modern artists does little to give more recognition back to old blues and jazz artists who might have died broke yet created the framework for multiple genres.
"And where is the Birdman? HE'S AT HOME WASHING HIS TIGHTS!"
The Oscars have a history of ignoring the Swedish race and this year was no different. Swedish-American actor Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruben Östlund's Force Majeure were both unjustly ignored.
