Basically about the same…
When I was like 7 I saw this video with my friends for the first time. I remember thinking that after I reached teenage years every party for the rest of my life would be like that party(or crazier) and also we wondered if those guys were for real… Then we saw the scene where they rap at the dog "I'll kick you out…
And songs about the Siege of Fort Harrison and the Battle of Tippecanoe.
I remember around 1995 or 96 the newer bands tagged as alternative or "grunge" didn't sound like they were influenced by Black Sabbath or the Pixies, but just sounded like they were influenced by the bands that got big in the early 90s.
Yeah it was sort of both, it was a parody that became a way to market the group, but I think the Beasties sort of became those guys for a couple years with the success of the album. My cousin was a college DJ who interviewed the Beastie Boys in Fresno during when one of their early tours.(Where they famously stole a…
Although in the US more Arabs are Christian than Muslim. And most Muslims in the US aren't Arab—-there's actually about as many American black Muslims or South Asians.
Whats even worse is that when ever anti-Muslim sentiment peaks and bigots decide to do something about Muslims, they usually end up attacking Sikhs.
We lost a lot of good men at the Battle of the Target in Suburban Atlanta that night when clerks said "happy holidays" instead of "merry Christmas." I don't want to relive those days…
The Seattle "grunge" scene didn't even really have a consistent sound among the famous bands. No one confused a Nirvana song with Pearl Jam or Alice In Chains or Soundgarden—Nirvana always had a more a stripped down noisy punk base to it than the more 70s hard rock/metal influence of the other big Seattle bands.
Yeah, I was a college freshman in 1999 and I remember sitting around seeing the "My Name Is" video with friends and everyone sort of dismissed it. The first album had some good tracks though as did the next one, but by like 2001 and 2002, we were all so far removed from the hype of Eminem(though 8 Miles was…
This post is really calling out for a Reposted a7x fan response…
I liked parts of Slim Shady and Marshall Matters and 8 Mile, but after that I had little interest in Eminem. I think in part because I heard Eminem break out when I was in college and not as a kid in high school or younger, I just found him to be a technically proficient rapper with some good lines(his verses on Any…
To be fair he is Canadian. They say "sorry" and apologize even when it's your fault.
I just hope this show is simply called "Drug Dealing Dad". That seems about right for Fox.
And in response to Rogen's latest response some random country musician tweeted:
Hopefully this won't change the chances for my screenplay, Paul Blart: SkyMall Cop.
I got all the good ones in the first shipment, then I forgot to send in the card every month and got sent CDs of Down In the Groove, Empire Burlesque, and Self-Portrait.
The Django one was just sort of weird, that scene went on a little too long and sort of broke the momentum of the end of the film. Apparently there's even a longer conversation that was deleted from scene where it turns out Quentin's character was a indentured servant(basically a slave) and so on.
I look forward to the long monologue about the significance of poutine.
Sounds like a great cast, but what awkward character will Tarantino himself play? Maybe a bounty hunter from New Zealand this time?
