So Pretentious
Just watched this a couple nights ago, and the overwhelming stench of pretention permeated the entire film. Affleck comes off as a douchebag. There were a few points where it was glaringly obvious it was totally fake. Like when during the Letterman appearance his agent lady is laughing, til she looks

What kind of person gets off on writing shit like this?

Super Stoked for this Column, Great Start
Such a fantastic show. I've always loved the quiet moments in each episode: the silence, footsteps, contemplative shots, shadows etc. The design, mise-en-scene, palette, is all so deliciously inspired. IMO, this series is easily the greatest adaptation of the Batman mythos

Michael Shannon in 'My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done?'
Not sure how many Av Clubbers have seen this film, or are aware of it. But if you're a fan of Shannon or his work in this show, you must see this film. He's excellent in it.

Cue the Haters! Hurry!
Religious this! Hipster that! Where are you guys!?

They casted Havoc. He's young boy, which makes sense, but i'd have hoped to see the character as more of a badass.

Why Do People Hate Ilan?
I've seen a few Ilan disses on this board, and it's news to me. He always came off as kind of a shy, takin-care-of-business type dude, who made delicious looking spanish food. What did I miss?

He seems creepy. Like, the type of skeezy dude I'd be worried about my girlfriend or someone encountering in a bar.

I felt that too. Sentences cut and spliced like whoa.

Jorge, I agree, there would be no reason, and it wouldn't make sense as he wasn't part of the team. But that likely hardly matters to Fox. Wolverine is a name. Taylor Lautner is a name. Could be a cameo, or worse. I've got a bad feeling about it though.

Taylor Lauter as Wolverine
It's inevitable innit? Sad and inevitable.

@fappy- I don't get it.

Very Good Episode
It's a bit bittersweet watching the series' lifespan wear down, as it's delivering such a good season. Especially with an episode like this, centered in and around the immediate Freeman family.
Riley and Lando's rivalry was pretty funny, with Huey staying out of it, on account of Lando being

Would be DOPE with Other, Worthy Acts
This would be heller dope with Outkast, Wu-Tang Clan, or a number of other acts. Shame it's gonna be wasted this way.

Also, I'm not a gamer at all. So, there's that.

@Sequence- Yes. Well, I don't know what you mean by 'art-worthy,' as I'm unfamiliar with that word. But, regarding Ebert's thesis, yes, this is the first game, for me, that transcended the medium, and seems to be an achievement of serious artistic worth.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION
Ebert's my boy, and I've agreed with him up until i've started playing 'Red Dead Redemption.' It is art that you jump into and have control over. It's a Sergio Leone fanboy's dream come true. Besides all the violence, gunfighting, and everything else, it's stunning. The environments, design,

Sanchez is so damned entertaining though. He's like a real life 'Anchorman.'
