i thought the whole arc was extremely well done because she was so direct about her sexual preferences in that early scene, and he was clearly hiding all of his weird fetish stuff. It hit close to home, not because i'm into anything like Adam, but just the act of introducing stuff to a sexual relationship that you

everyone calls this show out for forgetting about minorities, but I think they've really just forgotten that kind humans exist

i love spencer krug so so much. I wish wolf parade had panned out, or that sunset rubdown had continued. What are your thoughts on moonface?

I am one who usually defends lena dunham's writing skills (especially over her acting), but can we just say that she kinda sucks at plot? The whole charlie thing was introduced in such a sloppy way.

What was super weird about that scene was how well i thought it was written. A lot of the shit said between them rang so true for me, especially when Booth Jonathan (a tells you like it is up his own ass douche) gives such a stock response as "nows not a good time for me." That was awesome. The acting, however, was

sufjan

yeah that was awful, it looked like she was laughing. And then it just looked like she was scrunching her face

wow, they really do think booth Jonathan is a good artist….

i was there for the first time last week at the gillian jacobs episode. Now that i live super close to ucb, I will be going pretty much any time i can. It's real fun

I didn't think the letter was that weird. If that's what their conversation had been like, i see the urge to write it. The girl had every right not to respond though because it does come off a little strong, but whatever Pete is a big personality and he was just being honest.

All I can offer is that anyone who tells me how EVERY relationship goes is generally right about a few things and generally wrong about others. Everyones the same and different at the same time. Different shit works and doesn't work. I love commitment, I love loyalty, but I've also experienced not being in love with

The only thing that set this comment section ablaze was the review, not the episode. I totally get where Todd is coming from, as he saw an episode of television that he loved, but heard that other critics hated it. He got defensive, and wrote a review that basically said "whatever, I liked it." That's not a terrible

to be fair, that's a pretty huge critical backlash against those shows and movies. Remember when Knocked Up came out and everyone was howling about how Seth Rogen could never score someone like Katherine Heigl. It does happen regularly in TV (and there is no doubting that if you trace the history of American movies

when i think about how I react to other shows, say breaking bad, where the characters are very unlikeable, i always come back to this point: they're cooking meth, and killing people. They're such an extreme of unlikeable or even evil, that they're interesting for me to watch. I'm not saying girls sucks, although i am

well i mean maybe her love for lemonheads could have something to do with her probably being pretty good friends with jesse peretz…

Sunshinefiasco, you make a great point. I think it's mostly that the "free spirit" persona is the most grating thing in the world to me, especially when its said by someone who thinks that doing heroin and privileged traveling funded by parents is what constitutes a free spirit.

jessa is the worst person on the show. Jemima does play it well and this is really the first episode that features her being vulnerable. I still kinda hate her though

it also made it seem like lena, or whoever chose that as the art, really thought that was good art. Marnie, being so resistant but turned on by his douche persona is suddenly transformed when she sees his art.

jessa is the most frustrating character on the show for me, because shes the only one where i actually think the actor thinks the character is awesome. Everyone else is so clearly aware of their characters bullshit, and maybe jemima is a better actress than the rest, but i really think she just might be like that.

what's often overlooked is that this is a job in addition to artistic expression
