Hey, I don't watch it!
Hey, I don't watch it!
Continuum is Canadian though. Its not a SyFy show.
I'm always so happy when I have a long reading list. There's all that anticipation that you might find a new favorite. I need to find a better way to keep track of books though because if I don't get them right away I forget why they're on the reading list. There should be an app. But not good reads because that's…
I'm pretty sad about this. But he did live long and prosper.
Well yeah. Nobody is arguing that, I think (never mind about twitter). It just looks white and gold in this picture to some people. Including me!!!!
Its definitely looking white and gold to me on my phone but scrolling up quickly I almost, momentarily saw blue-black and my head exploded.
Yes I got caught in between books 2 and 3 of the rain wilds and by the time 3 came out I'd forgotten everything from 1 and 2 plus had wasted tons of time post finishing 2 pining for 3.
I think this might be the power of expectations. I went to see Avatar without having a clue about all the hype (a friend dragged me pretty early) and I went to see it in IMAX 3D which at the time did not suffer from the darkness issues. I was blown away. Not by the story which was mediocre but just that this fully…
I don't mind urban fantasy. In general, there is a large middle and trash section but the books that are good tend to be exceptional and have great female leads.
I liked the episode a lot but found quite a few of McNutt's criticisms to be on point specially regarding the weakness of Andre's story and Anika's lack of characterization.
I'll check them out, thanks!
Well this might be cultural predisposition on my part but sherwanis definitely look hot. :)
Their free ebooks are so great!! Baen's covers though are really bad (at least for book 3).
What are the other half? I am convinced I will like them!
Huh, you got me at elf princesses in hard rock cafe t-shirts. It kind of sounds a little like Tinker by Wen Spencer. Have you read those books? Very space fantasy and very fun to read.
Lol, that might be the case. Its a shame because as you pointed out, I want to like his books. I had the same problem with Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next books. I found the idea brilliant but the books very hard to engage with.
Hello fellow Pratchett and Hobb fan!
Ooh great survey, thanks!
Nnedi Okorafor has been on my must-read list for ages. This is a timely reminder as I am planning library/bookshop visits based on all the awesome recommendations. I've been in a bit of a reading slump too — haven't really engaged with anything new and have just been re-reading favourites.
Was it really? My memory of it is foggy. If so, I should definitely give Perdido a try. I know I've tried two Mieville's but I cannot remember the title of the other one… Un Lun Dun was definitely disappointing.
