I hear you. Same thing here. Admittedly, I felt that Dollhouse was slow to hit its stride as well before it got really good. So yeah, I'm hanging in there because of past work but also because there might be some slivers of potential good in this episode.

Burn Gorman was *awesome*! If they had Burn Gorman as Fitz this show would be several magnitudes better than it is now. Now I'm sad because they you-know-whatted him on Torchwood. Sigh…

Yeah, that is super annoying. I am chalking that down to the writers trying to get the show settled into case of the week before hitting the cool, serialized, mysteries of the show's world later on in the season. Which is standard procedural fare. BUT seems like kind of a letdown when you are expecting Whedon…

Yes, but at least one gets the impression that there are depths there that we will get to. Unlike the others who are completely on the surface and utterly useless.

So lets compare to 'The Tomorrow People' which I thought was gonna be crap but watched out of boredom…I actually *liked* the characters at the end of the pilot. I don't know who cast SHIELD…but the primary Whedon characteristic of a cast that has crazy chemistry with each other is missing. Which is sad.

Reads like Todd…?

"Like David, I found last week’s episode an improvement over the week
before, and “Eye Spy” builds even more upward momentum as it delves into
Agent Coulson’s past."

Whoops, didn't see this before posting! But yes, I too agree. :)

More like three or four centuries. Which is frustratingly referred to by Ichabod who says they are talking "Chaucer's English." Maybe the writers meant Shakespearean English and got confused?

NOOOOOOOOO!
